What is the Lo Shu Grid?

Lo Shu Grid (ಲೋ ಶೂ ಗ್ರಿಡ್) is an ancient Chinese numerology chart based on a 3×3 magic square: numbers 1–9 sit in fixed positions, and each row, column, and diagonal adds up to 15. You fill it using the digits of your date of birth. Repeated numbers show strong energy in that life area; missing numbers suggest areas to develop.

The 4×4 grid concept

On this page we use a 4×4 layout that extends the classic Lo Shu:

  • Rows 1–3, columns 1–3: The traditional 3×3 Lo Shu chart (positions 4-9-2, 3-5-7, 8-1-6). Each cell shows how many times that digit (1–9) appears in your birth date. Digit 0 is not used.
  • Column 4 (right side): Extra insights — Driver number (from your birth day, single digit), Conductor number (Life Path, from full date), and which planes/arrows are complete in your chart.
  • Row 4: The last cell shows your missing numbers (if any). The other three cells complete the 4×4 grid visually.

So the 4×4 grid gives you the full Lo Shu 3×3 plus Driver, Conductor, plane summary, and missing-number count in one clear chart. Generate your grid below to see it.

FAQ — Lo Shu Grid Numerology

What is the Lo Shu Grid used for?

The Lo Shu Grid is used to interpret your natural strengths, personality patterns, and energy balance based on your birth date numbers. It does not predict fate — it helps you understand your patterns so you can make better choices.

What does it mean if a number is missing from my grid?

A missing number indicates an aspect of life that may need conscious cultivation. For example, missing 3 may show the need to express emotions or ideas more openly. Use the remedies section for simple ways to bring that energy into balance.

What are Driver and Conductor numbers?

Driver number is obtained by adding the digits of your birth day until you get a single digit (1–9). Conductor number (Life Path) is the sum of all digits of your full date of birth (day + month + year) reduced to a single digit. They represent your day energy and overall life theme.

Can the Lo Shu Grid change over time?

Your core grid, based on your date of birth, remains constant. However, numerological cycles or yearly influences can shift which energies are more active in your life at different times.

Is Lo Shu Grid related to Feng Shui?

Yes. Both systems share the same elemental philosophy (Water, Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal) and direction-based energy mapping. The Lo Shu grid is also known as Feng Shui numerology.
